Board Meeting MINUTES

June 18th, 2008

Crossroads Church 7 PM

 

  • Call To Order: Allan called meeting to order at 7:04 pm.
  • Members Present:  All present, except Eric. (Eric attended the last part of meeting)
  • Secretary’s Report:  Kurt motion to accept report and Deb 2nd.  All in favor.
  • Treasurer’s Report: No report.
    • Parent Volunteer Audit: Nancy reviewed her finding regarding the review of the Silverblades Financial Records from 2005-2008 (see review) and made suggestions to club.
      • Signed coach contracts to treasurer for records
      • Are we appropriately insured?
      • Do parents know we have liability insurance coverage?
      • Consider having a physician at each ice shows
      • Have an annual calendar
      • Make motions for annual payments for records
      • Consider a receipt book
  • Old Business
    • Volunteer of the Year: Nominations for John James, Carol Hahn, Nancy Kaiser, Jerry-Ann Erickson, and Sherri Ludwig.  After a vote,  Deb motioned for Carol Hahn to receive volunteer of the year award.  Julie 2nd.  All in favor.  Julie will get plaque tag.  Put in newsletter.
    • Summer Fundraiser/Volunteer Work:  Al will contact Jami about this.  Walking in the 4th of July parade was mentioned.
    • 2009 Ice Show Theme:
      • Ideas from parents?  Couple emails have come from parents.  Allan is taking ideas until July 15th. 
      • Coach Appreciation Night at July meeting?  It will be outdoors at River Park.  Kurt motioned for Corrine and Julie to “spearhead” the appreciation night by reserving River Park from 6pm – 8pm and spending $200 on Coach Appreciation Night.  Deb 2nd.  All in favor.  Meeting will be at 7pm.
  • New Business
    • Pictures:  Photographer:  There is a new photographer in town – “Grace by Design.”  Deb liked how current photographer works with club.  How affordable are others?  Corrine will look into new photographer’s information.  Put on next agenda.
    • Board Member Schedule to cover Ice Schedule:  Ran out of time.  Next agenda.
    • Concessions during Silverblades Ice Time:  Lynn will look into having snacks at a reasonable price and profits will go into fundraiser.
  • Public Comments:  None
  • Next board meeting: July 16th at Crossroads Church at 7 PM
  • Adjourn: Motion to adjourn by Ryan at 9:52 and Corrine 2nd.  All in favor.
